First things first, I would like to thank vacant for allowing me to take over the community.
This is a community for sharing and discussing your opinions on current events, or anything you feel is important and should be discussed.
However, topics will be selected every week for you to discuss. If you have a topic you would like to request for discussion, feel free to email me (Michelle) @ stormyxcloud@yahoo.com and in the subject line put Requesting topic for discussion. Or comment to this post.
New members please take a moment to fill out this little survey to allow the community to get to know you better. And if you are responding to a topic upon joining, please post this survey seperately. Thank you, and thanks for joining!

This is a moderated community. What this means is that all posts are either accepted or denied per my disgression, so don't panic if you do not see your post right away. It is there and it will get posted as soon as possible (usually within an hour or two from when you posted it, but no more than one day).
And of course there has to be rules. They are*:
1. Respect everyone's opinions even if you do not agree with theirs.
2. Do not put down any member of the community for any reason.
3. As some issues may be touchy subjects to members of this communtiy, discussions could get a little carried away. Please keep it cool while you are defending your opinions or trying to debate on someone else's. Please refrain from name calling and making personal attacks on each other based on how one may feel about a certain issue.
4. Excessive use of profanity or racist comments will not be tolerated. Action taken could result in a warning, and if it continues, you may be banned from this community. But please note that if other members of this community have complaints against you, or want to have you banned, I will take into consideration their opinions and you may be banned without first recieving a warning.
5. No post by a member is allowed to have the 'comments option' disabled. If you post an entry and have the 'comments option' disabled, your post will be deleted. This is a community for sharing opinions and debating issues. If you don't want someone commenting to your entry, then don't post it. The only posts allowed to have the 'comments option' disabled are posts from the maintainer (me), and those posts will only be for announcing new topics for discussion.
6. When a new topic has been selected, if you still have opinions about the previous topic, feel free to discuss them in comments to entries that dealt with that topic. Do not post opinions of an old topic while a new topic has been selected.
7. Please keep this community drama free. If you have personal problems with another member do not settle them within this community. Settle them elsewhere.
8. If you feel you are having problems with another member try working it out with them first. If you feel issues are not getting resolved and would like them to, contact me and I will do my best to help you out.
--However, I refuse to babysit this community. If I see continued problems arise with the same people and things cannot get resolved, I may politely ask you to leave the community.
But, I sincerely doubt things will ever get that carried away. And I certainly hope they don't. There haven't been any problems thus far in the community, but just in case, you have been warned.
